Job Description
This Request for Proposal (RFP) document is intended to lead to the identification of vendors that can demonstrate having sufficient capacity and experience in hosting and facilitating an event and program during the Inclusive Africa Conference.
About inABLE
inABLE.org is a nonprofit organization based in Kenya with a mission to empower persons with disabilities in Africa through assistive technology. Over the last four years, inABLE has hosted the annual Inclusive Africa Conference that has created a platform to promote the advancement of digital accessibility and assistive technology for persons with disabilities in Africa. This year we are hosting the fifth Annual Conference that will take place on May 14th-16th 2024 in Nairobi Kenya. This is a hybrid event that aims to host 300 in-person delegates and over 2,000 online audiences.
Job Description
This Request for Proposal (RFP) document is intended to lead to the identification of vendors that can demonstrate having sufficient capacity and experience in hostingfs-5 and facilitating an event and program during the Inclusive Africa Conference. inABLE is therefore soliciting from interested companies/individuals a request for proposal clearly showing the following:
- Proven track record as an MC for corporate events or conferences.
- Current list of clients and partners where similar services have been provided. Provide name of client, scope on contract, number of Master of Ceremony services staff, Start date of the contract. (at least 5 clients)
- Geographical presence i.e. the regions that the vendor has offices/presence. (Please provide any other additional information that inABLE should be aware of.
Key responsibilities
- Set the tone for the conference, introduce speakers, and engage the audience
- Smoothly transition between sessions, ensuring the event flows seamlessly.
- Ensures the event starts and ends as per the schedule.
- Present speakers with enthusiasm, highlighting their expertise
- Encourage participation, Q&A sessions, and networking.
- A good sense of humor lightens the mood and connects with the audience.
- A good understanding of all the components of the event, agenda, location, speakers, nature of different audiences’ award presenters, roles, functions and the sessions.
- Professionally introduce speakers, performers and any special guest in a way that puts them at ease, announce items on the agenda, and recognize sponsors.
- Serving as a central figure and representative of the organization hosting the event.
- Polished presentation, excellent communication skills, and adaptability.
- Good understanding of sign language is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with business terminology and industry trends.
- Ability to connect with diverse audiences
- Conclude the conference on a high note.
