Job Description
To empower students and youth in the acquisition of computer skills. This will include, but is not limited to, Introduction to Computers, Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), the Internet, and Software Development.

Job Objective:
To empower students and youth in the acquisition of computer skills. This will include, but is not limited to, Introduction to Computers, Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), the Internet, and Software Development. The job holder will also offer computer training to special needs students using assistive technology software, evaluate the learners, empower/ mentor the students, and manage classroom dynamics.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The IT Instructor will perform the following key duties;
- Train students and teachers in basic and advanced computer skills, including but not limited to: computer packages (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace), internet usage, assistive technology, and other relevant tech-related skills.
- Develop and update curriculum and training materials, and design engaging lesson plans to meet the learning needs of diverse participants.
- Introduce students and youths to computer programming and web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Troubleshoot and maintain computer hardware and the local network, ensuring all necessary software is up to date and functioning seamlessly within the hub.
- Manage and secure the organization’s documents and data stored locally and, on the cloud,, adhering to data protection best practices.
- Manage relationships with stakeholders at the station level, including schools, churches, and the local community.
- Lead in creating compelling social media stories and blog content to highlight the hub’s activities and impact.
- Mentor and counsel students to boost their confidence, self-esteem, and abilities, providing guidance and support.
- Prepare, administer, mark, and process computer assessments and examinations, providing timely feedback to students.
- Manage classroom dynamics effectively to ensure a positive and conducive learning environment.
- Evaluate students’ performance and present it in a clear and understandable manner for accurate reporting.
- Lead in the implementation of special projects as required by the organization or the needs of the community.
- Provide students with access to relevant and up-to-date digital learning resources.
- Track and communicate students’ progress and advancement throughout their courses.
- Attending all relevant program meetings and contributing actively to discussions and planning.
- Potentially supervise and provide guidance to other instructors or volunteers.
- Prepare regular reports on training activities, student progress, and hub operations.
- Manage student enrollment and attendance records.
- Collaborate with the Program Manager on report generation and hub administration.
Qualifications:
- At least a Diploma in ICT / or its equivalent.
- 2 years of relevant work experience. (Teaching skill is an added advantage).
