Job Description
The role of the intern is to assist the program staff in guiding the learners in the acquisition of computer skills. This will include, but is not limited to, Keyboard skills, Internet and research, and Productivity tools (Word processing, spreadsheet, and PowerPoint/ presentation). The intern is also expected to participate in a coding program.

Program Background.
inABLE is scaling Africa’s inclusive digital economy by preparing youth with disabilities for quality employment and catalyzing systems change. Through the Inclusive Africa Program (IAP), we build both talent and demand by training Digital Accessibility Champions, mobilizing advocates and youth leaders, accelerating assistive technology (AT) entrepreneurs, and advancing digital accessibility standards through the Inclusive Africa Conference
Job Objective:
The role of the intern is to assist the program staff in guiding the learners in the acquisition of computer skills. This will include, but is not limited to, Keyboard skills, Internet and research, and Productivity tools (Word processing, spreadsheet, and PowerPoint/ presentation).
The intern is also expected to participate in a coding program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the daily running of the digital hub.
- Work with program staff in training youths, students, and teachers on basic and advanced computer skills (Computer packages, internet, Codding etc.)
- Support in maintaining computer hardware and local network in the hub.
- Work with the team in creating social media stories and blogs.
- Support in mentoring and counseling young learners to boost their confidence, self-esteem, and abilities.
- Assist in the cleanliness of the lab.
- Aid students with assignments and projects related to ICT.
- Work with Program staff in providing students with digital learning resources.
- Assist in students’ assessments.
- Participate in computer programming and coding programs (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript).
Qualifications:
- At least a Diploma in an IT-related field or Project Management.
- Be a person living with disability (For Thika, Meru, Siaya, Likoni and Kambui Stations)
- Knowledge on assistive technology will be an added advantage
Experience & Skills:
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Excellent oral communication skills, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Basic computer skills.
- Mentorship skills.
- Excellent presentation abilities.
- Ability to learn new skills
