Job Description
We are looking for a dynamic, organized, and collaborative Event Coordinator to provide support for our flagship Annual Inclusive Africa Conference. The purpose of the Conference is to promote the advancement of digital accessibility and assistive technology for persons with disabilities in Africa.

Job Description
We are looking for a dynamic, organized, and collaborative Event Coordinator to provide support for our flagship Annual Inclusive Africa Conference. The purpose of the Conference is to promote the advancement of digital accessibility and assistive technology for persons with disabilities in Africa. The event coordinator will report to the inABLE management and will be part of the team that is responsible for the smooth execution of the conferences.
Key Responsibilities
- Consult with senior leaders to define event goals, business objectives, and target audiences. Assists decision makers in planning and troubleshooting pre-event, day-of-event, and post-event.
- Participate in event budget development, tracks event budget and discuss with management as budgetary concerns arise.
- Working with developers, PR team to post events on inABLE websites and other social media platforms.
- Create marketing campaigns for advertising the events.
- Plan and manage all event operations (venue selection, preparation, invitations, vendor management, coordination etc.)
- Delivers clear, timely, and accurate communication on conference and event status and issues regularly to stakeholders, including leaders, team members, and senior managers.
- Tracks and communicates post-event reporting and follow-up activities to appropriate parties. Gather pre and post-event data for analysis. Consults with leaders to make event-related business decisions using data reports, anecdotes, and industry best practices as appropriate.
- Understand the requirements for each event.
- Identify speakers and participants and schedule event activities.
- Negotiate with vendors to achieve the most favorable terms.
- Evaluate the event’s success and submit reports.
- Adjusting events accordingly based on feedback and requirements.
- Networking and creating future opportunities, partnerships, and resource mobilization for the event.
- Coordinating multiple events at once.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Must have a Degree in Communication, Travel and Tourism, Marketing, or any other relevant field
- At least five (5) years of professional high-level events management experience
- Great communication and customer service skills
- Flexibility in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborative and a team player
- Proficiency in computer skills
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational and multitasking skills
- Proficient in English and Swahili. French is an added advantage
- Experience in disability or inclusive events is an added advantage
