Job Description
To empower students/ youths in the acquisition of computer skills. This will include but is not limited to Introduction to Computers, Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, etc.), the Internet, and coding. The job holder will also offer computer training to special needs students using assistive technology software, evaluate the learners, empower/ mentor the students, and manage classroom dynamics.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The IT Instructor will perform the following key duties;
- Train students and teachers in basic and advanced computer skills. (Computer packages, internet, Assistive technology, etc.)
- Manage the daily running of the computer lab.
- Introduce students, youths, and interns to computer programming and web development. (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript).
- Troubleshooting and maintaining computer hardware and local network in the labs.
- Manage and secure the organization’s documents and data stored locally and in the cloud.
- Work with the station leads in creating social media stories and blogs.
- Mentoring and counseling students to boost their confidence, self-esteem, and abilities.
- Observing and managing classroom dynamics.
- Evaluate students’ performance, maintain an environment that is conducive to learning, and communicate with station leads.
- Assist the station leads in special project implementation as may be required.
- Provide students with relevant digital learning resources.
- Tracking and communicating students’ advancement throughout the course.
- Maintaining hardware and downloading important software updates.
- Assist in the cleanness of the lab and lab equipment.
- Participate in the preparation, administration marking, and processing of computer assessments and examinations.
- Attend all daily program meetings.
Qualifications:
- At least a Diploma in ICT / or its equivalent.
- 2 years of relevant work experience. (Teaching skill is an added advantage)
