Inclusive Africa Conference 2024

The fifth Inclusive Africa Conference will take place on May 14th to 16th, 2024 at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Upperhill, Nairobi, Kenya. This year’s conference will be a hybrid event with 300 delegates attending in person and over 2000+ virtual attendees from across Africa and the globe. inABLE will be partnering with 20 leading disability organizations in Africa to host live watch parties with about 50 – 100 participants.  

 

Since its inauguration in 2020, the conference’s purpose has been to promote digital inclusion for persons with disabilities in Africa. Over the years the conference has created a platform for persons with lived experiences, accessibility experts, policymakers, researchers, innovators, entrepreneurs, businesses, and governments to share knowledge and create awareness about the importance of leaving no one behind. 

 

This year’s overarching theme is ‘Breaking Barriers; Advancing Digital Accessibility for a Disability Inclusive Future in Africa’. Additionally, the conference will feature the AT Village, where 20 innovators from across Africa will showcase their cutting-edge digital accessibility and assistive technology innovations. 

 

InABLE extends an invitation for partnerships in hosting roundtable discussions, speaking engagements, sponsorships, and the opportunity to showcase inclusion initiatives. The conference discussions will cast a spotlight on pivotal topics such as fostering inclusive policies, mobile assistive technology, inclusive education, employment, accessible tourism, and more. Inclusive Africa Conference 2023

Since the first Inclusive Africa Conference in 2020, the purpose of this annual event is to promote the advancement of digital accessibility and assistive technology for persons with disabilities in Africa. Over the last three years, this event has created a platform for disability and accessibility experts, people with lived experiences, policymakers, researchers, innovators, entrepreneurs, businesses, governments and others to share knowledge and created awareness across Africa about the importance of leaving no one behind. The discussions include employment, education innovations, and more.

 

In 2023, this will be an in-person event (350 people) with a live stream virtual-event (approximately 2,500 people globally) taking place concurrently. inABLE will partner with 20 leading disability organizations in Africa to host live watch parties with about 50 – 100 participants.

Inclusive Africa Conference 2022

The third-annual 2022 Inclusive Africa Conference opened in Kenya on May 25th – 26th with a hybrid format to promote in-person engagement at the Nairobi Trademark Hotel and virtually through the 14 watch parties and live stream broadcast.

 

Over 2,400 delegates registered for the conference, while thousands more joined on day one via live stream. More than 400 attended in-person; among them, 63 global high-tech leaders and accessibility authorities from all over Africa and the world traveled to Nairobi (a few virtually) to share their knowledge, lessons learned, and global best practices.

 

The event was sponsored by MasterCard Foundation, Google, Microsoft, and Meta, among others.
