Role summary
To design and deliver high-quality disability inclusion training that equips inABLE’s suppliers, service providers, and partners with the knowledge, skills, and practical tools required to respectfully, safely, and inclusively engage with persons with disabilities, while ensuring compliance with the Disability Act (2025) and advancing inABLE’s mission of disability inclusion.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Train conference suppliers, including ushers, security personnel, hotels, transport providers, and exhibitors on inclusive guest handling during the Inclusive Africa Conference 2026.
- Provide role-specific guidance on supporting guests with disabilities in areas such as registration, movement, accommodation, security checks, transport, and exhibition spaces.
- Deliver practical training aligned with the Disability Act (2025) and inclusive event management standards.
- Use real-life conference scenarios to demonstrate respectful communication, assistance protocols, and reasonable accommodations.
- Develop customized disability inclusion training materials for IAP conference suppliers to support inclusive guest interaction and service delivery.
- Ensure suppliers understand accessibility requirements before, during, and after the conference and can respond appropriately to guest needs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Possess a Degree in Special Needs Education, Inclusive Education, Disability Studies, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Have at least five (5) years’ proven experience delivering disability inclusion or inclusive practice training in Kenya.
Core Skills and Competences:
- Demonstrate sound knowledge and practical application of the Disability Act (2025) and disability rights–based approaches.
- Exhibit strong facilitation and adult learning skills, with the ability to engage diverse, non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Possess strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-management skills, particularly when working with suppliers, service providers, and partners.
