Students at Likoni High School for the Visually Impaired have a variety of talents, including singing. The Likoni choir performed admirably at a recent music festival. They were even invited to perform in front of Kenya’s president, Hon. Uhuru Kenyatta.
The choir’s performance at the Nakuru statehouse was so moving that he promised them a school bus.
“It was a powerful performance,” said the president. He thanked us teachers for doing a good job as well as the students for their outstanding performance. He promised to buy us a bus, which will be delivered to the school on October 20 this year,” said Christine Chemutai, the school’s principal.
The fantastic Likoni choir singers were also fully sponsored to perform at Uganda’s East Africa Music Festivals. When the choir returned from Uganda, the President extended a second invitation to perform at the Kenya Mashujaa Day Celebration, where the President officially presented the school choir with the promised 51-seat school bus.
Congratulations to Likoni High School for winning the Visually Impaired School Choir competition. Your talent and hard work have been acknowledged and rewarded.
