2022 Inclusive Africa Conference Secures Sponsorship Support

Nairobi – Global powerhouses have paved the way for the first in-person Inclusive Africa Conference in Kenya. The Mastercard Foundation has taken the lead Platinum Sponsor position, followed by Gold Sponsor Google, and Accessibility Sponsors Meta and Microsoft.

“It takes the support of leadership at the highest level to advance inclusion, digital accessibility and assistive technology,” states inABLEExecutive Director Irene Mbari-Kirika. “The Inclusive Africa Conference is able to showcase Persons with Disabilities leaders, assistive technology innovations, and digital accessibility best practices with the Platinum, Gold and Accessibility Sponsor contributions.”

After two years virtual, the third-annual Inclusive Africa Conference takes place on May 25- 26 at the Trademark Hotel in Nairobi. Organized by inABLE, this hybrid event is opening with the historic launch of the first-ever National ICT Accessibility Standard for products and services in Africa, followed by two days of high level discussions led by over 30 global leaders from across Africa and the world, as well as music superstar Cobhams Asuquo and Human Rights Lawyer advancing disability justice Haben Girma. Advance registration is required.

This year’s event promotes inclusive employment, education, ICT policies, financial services, digital innovations, and mobile assistive technology, and will be made accessible through live captions, sign language and translation in English and French. Over 200 in-person delegates, from across the globe are anticipated, as well as thousands more remote attendees and watch party attendees via a virtual-event to be live streamed.
