Leading Tech, innovations, and policy experts join the 2023 Speaker Faculty at the upcoming 4th Annual Inclusive Africa Conference

Nairobi– The upcoming 4th Inclusive Africa Conference— happening at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya on May 29- 31—will be focusing discussions on the implementation of ICT accessibility policy and standards in different sectors such as employment, education, finance, and entertainment among others, led by leading global and regional tech, innovations, policy, employment, education, disability, and accessibility champions. The keynote and speaker faculty include Vint Cerf, Vice President and Chief Internet Evangelist at Google, Bernard Chiira, Director, Innovate Now- Global Disability Innovation Hub, and Sunday Parker, Access Technology Program Manager at Microsoft, Mastercard Foundation, and more. The 2023 sponsors include The Mastercard Foundation, Google, Microsoft, Uber, The World Bank, and Bloomberg Philanthropies.

“Since the first Inclusive Africa Conference in 2020, the purpose of this annual event is to promote the advancement of digital accessibility and assistive technology for persons with disabilities in Africa.”, explains inABLE Executive Director Irene Mbari-Kirika. “To elevate the significance of innovations that improve the lives of everyone —especially PWDs in Africa, inABLE will be hosting 30 inclusive innovation and assistive technology start-up groups to the Assistive Technology Innovations Village at the in-person event to showcase their innovations.”

Over 350 in-person delegates from across the globe are anticipated in Nairobi, and approximately 2,500 virtual attendees expected to join through a live-streamed event. About 1,000 in-person attendees from across Africa expected to attend via live watch parties in 20 African countries including but not limited to Ghana, Nigeria, Gambia, Cameroon, Togo, Central African Republic, Ethiopia, Somali, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Malawi, Zambia, and South Africa.

To attend this conference whether in-person or virtually, registration is required. This conference will be made accessible through live captions, sign language and translation in English and French, and other assistive accommodations.
