We’re happy that our team including the Head of Advocacy, Julius Mbura, Business Development Manager, George Siso, and Programs Manager, Antony Njoroge, got an opportunity to take the guests on a detailed field trip showing the powerful impact of \assistive technology on the young students’ education and social life. Ben and Michael got an opportunity to interact with the learning materials at Thika Primary School for the Blind and experienced the students’ transition from Braille Machines to Chromebooks, enhancing their critical digital skills. These Chromebooks were donated by Google and will go a long way in improving their overall education and widening their technological experiences further. Chromebooks are dependent on internet connectivity, unfortunately, the current Wi-Fi only reaches a few classes in the school. We are pleased that Liquid Intelligent offered to provide a stable internet connection in the entire school compound. With this assured internet connectivity from Liquid Intelligent, our learners with visual impairments can continue to use voice assist or screen readers and enjoy their Chromebooks independently.

Lastly, the team also made their way to the newly refurbished Kang’aru Digital Hub, formerly known as Kairi Library, is now a fully equipped digital library thanks to Google and has become the vital community resource helping learners and teachers living in the Kairi community to maximize their education and research potential through computers and a wide range of books.

At inABLE, we are passionate about equipping young learners with critical digital skills that will help them earn a living and become independent in society. We’re excited about our partnership with Google and look forward to partnering with Liquid Intelligent Technologies.
