Forbes Accessibility 100

We are excited and deeply honored to share that inABLE has been named to the inaugural Forbes Accessibility 100 list, a first-of-its-kind recognition celebrating global leaders and innovators advancing accessibility and disability inclusion.

The Forbes Accessibility 100, released on June 17, 2025, shines a spotlight on 100 changemakers from across 15 countries—ranging from global tech giants and trailblazing startups to advocacy groups and nonprofit organizations. Selected through nine months of research and more than 400 expert interviews, the list identifies those making a meaningful, measurable impact across sectors like mobility, communication, education, design, and digital access.

Among this incredible group, inABLE is proud to be recognized as one of only a few African organizations featured. This is a testament to our mission, our team, and the growing power of African-led innovation in the accessibility space.

“We are incredibly proud and humbled to receive this global recognition,” said Irene Mbari-Kirika, Founder and Executive Director of inABLE. “This is a powerful validation of our belief that persons with disabilities should not only consume digital content—but help create it, lead in it, and thrive through it. Accessibility is the foundation for disability inclusion.”

A Shared Victory

This moment is not just about inABLE. It is a shared milestone with every person and partner who has walked this journey with us, supporting our work in digital skills training, policy influence, and inclusive technology development.

From the Mastercard Foundation, Google, Microsoft, Meta, Salesforce, Uber, Intuit, and ATscale to the countless grassroots advocates, youth innovators, and educators we’ve collaborated with, your trust, collaboration, and support have made this possible.

“This honor belongs to all of us,” Irene added. “To our partners, team, and the disability community whose lived experiences continue to guide our work – we are grateful to walk this path with you.”

Why This Matters

inABLE’s inclusion in the Forbes Accessibility 100 comes at a time when digital accessibility is no longer a niche concern. It’s a global imperative.

As the world becomes increasingly digital, millions of people with disabilities risk being left behind not due to lack of talent or potential, but because the systems weren’t designed with them in mind. Forbes’ list aims to change that narrative by celebrating organizations, inventors, and advocates who are not just closing the gap, but reimagining the systems entirely.

From AI-powered communication tools to accessible public services and inclusive design standards, the momentum is clear. And inABLE is proud to be helping shape that momentum across Africa through assistive tech training, inclusive education, advocacy and policy reform.

Leading from Africa, Building for the World

At inABLE, we believe the future of accessibility will be co-created with persons with disabilities at the center. That’s why we continue to lead initiatives like the Inclusive Africa Conference, which brings together changemakers across government, tech, and civil society to push forward digital accessibility solutions built for and by African communities.

As Forbes has now affirmed: accessibility is not just the right thing to do. It’s the smart thing to do. It’s good design, good business, and a better future for everyone.
