inableAdmin
Corazon Odhiambo is an ICT specialist, who is visually impaired, from Siaya County. He is currently serving as an intern instructor at inABLE’s assistive technology lab in St. Oda Primary School for the Blind, the same school where his educational journey began.

A graduate of Sikri Vocational Training Centre for the Blind and Deaf, Corazon laid a strong foundation in technology that paved the way for his advancement in the ICT field. In January 2025, he joined inABLE’s one-year internship program to refine his computer skills and support other students with visual impairment in bridging the digital divide.
Over the past six months, Corazon has shown notable progress. Through inABLE’s structured Assistive Technology Skills Training, he has strengthened his computer navigation abilities and adapted to new tools such as Chromebooks, introduced as part of the inABLE Chromebook Project. His internship experience has also provided him with access to the software development program, where he has gained practical experience in front-end web design. So far, Corazon has mastered essential programming languages like HTML and CSS and continues to grow in this space.
“One of my long-term ambitions is to develop a personal website to support my music production venture,” he shares, adding that the project merges his passion for music and technology. It also reflects his desire to create accessible digital platforms that represent the talents of visually impaired individuals.
In addition to his technical growth, Corazon has taken on a mentorship role. He is now training younger learners, particularly those in the lower grades, in basic computer use. His ability to guide and motivate others highlights his leadership qualities and his dedication to ensuring that others with visual impairments also gain digital independence.
Corazon’s progress is made possible by inABLE’s model, which equips special schools for the blind in Kenya with fully installed Assistive Technology Labs. inABLE has partnered with schools across Kiambu, Siaya, Meru, and Mombasa counties, providing infrastructure, computer devices, accessible software, and structured training programs. These labs are staffed by trainers who understand the unique learning needs of blind and low-vision students, ensuring they gain relevant digital and employable skills.
By offering foundational and advanced digital literacy, including web design, device proficiency, and peer-led instruction, inABLE opens doors to academic advancement and employment. Corazon’s journey reflects the lasting impact of this approach, a determined learner growing into a skilled mentor, using assistive technology to drive inclusion and independence.
inABLE is proud to be part of Corazon’s journey and looks forward to its continued contributions to inclusive technology and digital accessibility.
