inABLE recently partnered with the US Embassy on an 8-month-long project- Creating Tomorrow’s Business Leaders Project. In only two months, the participating Computer-Lab-for-the-Blind students have shown outstanding progress.

For example, Jacinta, a 15-year-old grade seven pupil at St. Oda school for the Blind in Siaya County, is very passionate about technology. As a young visually-impaired student, who also lives with albinism, she uses large print for reading and writing. She is leveraging the Forsythe Center for Employment and Entrepreneurship platform to access more learning resources, which have already boosted her learning outcomes.

The project connects blind youth with computer and soft skills to better their life engagement. They get to learn basic computing, browsing, and internet skills and the application software to be used in training, including online career research, online business opportunities, advanced Forsythe Center for Employment and Entrepreneurship, and exploring work possibilities for the blind in the business world.
